HB TempCon, a subsidiary of Haier Biomedical, has reached another important milestone: its self-developed RAP-AT1 active temperature-controlled container has successfully passed Etihad Airways’ technical review and received approval for use across the airline’s Boeing and Airbus fleets. This follows the previous approval of HB TempCon’s RKN-AT1 by Etihad Airways.

With this latest approval, both the RKN-AT1 and RAP-AT1—HB TempCon’s two core product series—are now approved by Etihad Airways, further strengthening the position of China-developed aviation temperature-control equipment in the Middle East and the global pharmaceutical cold-chain market.
As one of the Middle East’s most influential cargo carriers, Etihad Airways holds IATA CEIV Pharma certification and applies rigorous standards to the safety, temperature-control performance and end-to-end compliance of aviation containers. It is also a key carrier supporting the global transportation of biopharmaceutical products.
The approval of the RAP-AT1 means that both HB TempCon container models can now be transported across Etihad Airways’ global network. Together, they provide pharmaceutical customers with comprehensive active temperature-controlled airfreight solutions for the intercontinental transportation of high-value, temperature-sensitive cargo—including biologics, innovative medicines and active pharmaceutical ingredients—in a range of shipment volumes.
The RAP-AT1 active temperature-controlled container can accommodate four US-standard pallets or five Euro-standard pallets, offering highly competitive payload capacity within a compact footprint and making it ideal for large-volume shipments of temperature-sensitive products. Equipped with HB TempCon’s proprietary intelligent temperature-control system, the RAP-AT1 delivers precise temperature management across a broad range and offers extended operating endurance. It is designed to handle complex aviation cold-chain scenarios involving long distances, multiple time zones and varying climatic conditions, helping protect high-value pharmaceutical products throughout their journey.
Looking ahead, HB TempCon will continue to deepen its collaboration with Etihad Airways and other global airline partners, expand its worldwide station network and operational service capabilities, and further diversify its product portfolio. By providing safer, more cost-effective and more flexible temperature-controlled airfreight solutions, HB TempCon aims to support a more resilient, efficient and stable global pharmaceutical cold-chain supply network.
